First Independent black nation since 1804. To this date, Haiti and the Haitian people are paying a dreadful price for that uprising. With a population of 8 millions plus, Haiti stands alone in this world as her own blood and flesh offsprings devouring each other for personal gain, but I hope just one day that they come to the conclusion that the country can not save itself–it requires a collective effort from every segment of the population regardless of social-economic or political stance. It is ok and acceptable to make your voice heard whenever one feels that his or her rights are being infringed or abused, but violence or mass killing is not the way to come about achieving that goal. Let’s us preach once again, love, harmony, acceptance, respect and peace.
